Overview:
This intensive hands-on training program taught by doctors / University Faculty members discusses about how lasers and IPL work including the physics of lasers / IPL and interaction of lasers with tissue. Information on the most commonly used dermatologic lasers and their parameters will be presented. An overview of the anatomy and physiology of skin and hair, parameters for permanent hair reduction, photofacial, vascular and pigmented lesions, and tattoo removal will be an important part of the course. The lectures will include Lasers / IPL mediated skin tightening and resurfacing, acne treatment, pigmentation and vascular lesions removal, skin typing, and operational and treatment safety measures. Overview:
In this course we offer a comprehensive hands-on training to licensed physicians, registered nurses and nurse practitioners. Trainees will review facial muscles anatomy, injection techniques, patient examination facial mapping and analysis for safe injection, and how to handle complications. Botox dilution methods, preparation and storage, safety, legislation, contraindications and side effects will also be presented. Trainees will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the workshop and writing a short exam. This training and certification course is open to Canadian licensed practitioners. According to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia practicing Botox and Dermal Fillers fall within the definition of the "practice of medicine".
